The Primrose International Viola Archive (PIVA) is located within the Harold B. Lee Library on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. It is the official viola archive of both the International Viola Society and American Viola Society.
PIVA holds the largest collection in the world of the viola literature, as well as William Primrose’s own collection of letters, personal belongings and instruments.
It also includes the Ulrich Drüner Collection of Viola Music and is a violist’s pantheon with legacies such as those of Harold Coletta, Alan de Veritch, Paul Doktor, Karen Tuttle, Emanuel Vardi, Ernst Wallfisch, and the historians Maurice W. Riley and Franz Zeyringer.
